Hash Generator
Generate a file hash without opening a terminal.
Generating MD5, SHA-1, or SHA-256 hashes for quick verification meant a terminal command or a fragmented online tool.
A public deployment is available to try.
Case Study
Before
Generating cryptographic hashes for file verification, password storage testing, and data integrity checks required terminal commands or fragmented online tools.
After
Created a unified hashing tool that replaces terminal commands for quick hash generation. The file hashing feature enables integrity verification without installing command-line tools.
How it's solved
Built a multi-algorithm hash generator supporting MD5, SHA-1, SHA-256, SHA-512, and bcrypt. Supports text input, file hashing, and batch comparison. All processing uses the Web Crypto API for security.
Trade-offs
File hashing runs entirely in the browser, so very large files are limited by available memory.
