Comments
Add comments to a page without a third-party tracker riding along.
Third-party comment systems added tracking, ads, or fees across 100+ pages just to let readers leave a comment.
A public deployment is available to try.
Case Study
Before
Third-party comment systems (Disqus, Commento) added tracking, ads, or monthly fees across 100+ portfolio pages. Needed a lightweight, privacy-first comment solution.
After
Eliminated third-party comment dependencies across the entire portfolio. The self-hosted solution provides full data ownership with zero monthly cost and no tracking scripts.
How it's solved
Built a self-hosted comment system with markdown support, admin moderation, spam protection, and optional anonymous commenting. Comments are stored in SQLite and rendered server-side for SEO.
Trade-offs
Spam protection is basic — a determined spammer with varied IPs could still get some comments through moderation.
