Speech to Text
Transcribe a voice memo locally without paying for a transcription service.
Transcribing meeting notes required a paid service, even though browser speech recognition APIs already existed with no friendly interface built around them.
A public deployment is available to try.
Case Study
Before
Transcribing meeting notes and voice memos required paid transcription services or manual typing. Browser speech recognition APIs existed but had no user-friendly interface.
After
Delivered a free, browser-based transcription tool that processes audio locally — no data leaves the device. Real-time recognition enables live captioning for meetings and accessibility use cases.
How it's solved
Built a real-time speech-to-text tool using the Web Speech API with language selection, continuous recognition, auto-punctuation, and export to markdown. Supports multiple languages and handles technical vocabulary with custom word boosting.
Trade-offs
Accuracy depends entirely on the browser's built-in speech engine — it varies by browser and doesn't support every language equally well.
